Fire Terminator is a plant-based, PFAS-free fire suppression spray developed by Fire Terminator International — a Singapore company that has been protecting industrial sites, EV facilities and buildings across more than 30 countries since 2012.
The science behind FT JN1010®
Conventional dry-powder and CO₂ extinguishers smother flames, but they don't cool the fuel — which is why fires often re-ignite, and why powder makes a corrosive mess on electronics, food and fabric. Fire Terminator's patented FT JN1010® formula does both jobs at once, using something called a hydrodynamic spray.
1. Atomise
Compressed air (no toxic propellants) pushes the plant-based liquid through a precision nozzle, turning it into a fine, fast-moving mist with a 2–7 metre reach.
2. Smother
The mist forms an oxygen barrier across the surface of the fire — starving the flames of the oxygen they need to keep burning.
3. Cool
Because it's a water-based liquid, it pulls heat out of the fuel as it evaporates. That's the step that prevents re-ignition — critical for lithium-ion battery and cooking-oil fires.
4. Coat
A thin, biodegradable film stays behind on the fuel, acting as a fire retardant. The same formula is used as a fireproofing coating on vehicles, textiles and building materials overseas.

A standard NZ home extinguisher is rated for one or two fire classes. Fire Terminator is rated for all six, plus lithium-ion battery fires.

Using it at home
- Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire from 2–7 metres away.
- Spray in a sweeping motion across the source.
- Stop when the fire is out — the can is reusable, so you keep what's left.
The can works in any orientation (360° actuation), so it's just as effective on an under-bench cooking fire as it is on a vehicle or appliance fire. Shelf life is 10 years with no servicing or refills required.
